In December 2025, Grow Music’s band, the Rolling Pebbles, gave two live performances at the grand premiere of Bogland Hero, a multigenerational film about the cultural and ecological significance of Ireland’s peat boglands. The music was written and conducted by Grow Music’s very own guitar & ensemble director, Breifne Holohan. The Rolling Pebbles gave professional performances of this haunting beautiful and otherworldly film soundtrack. Our performers practiced & perfected the full length, 10 part composition in as little as 3 months despite ages ranging from 9 to 15 years old. The score featured a traditional music performance by Ruadhán Collier O’ Brien (uilleann pipes), Róisín Ward Morrow (Grow Music Instructor on fiddle) and Joe Savage (bouzouki, guitar).
We are hoping to give many more performances of Bogland hero over the next while. Performance opportunities such as these offer incredible experience to our students, uniquely impacting their growth as musicians and build their confidence to take to the stage showcasing their skills.
